My Type of Girl

During my one week Chinese New Year holiday back in Kuching I met a young lady that completely blew me away...
During the SMK Batu Lintang Old Buddies reunion party at Soho, I met my "lady-in-red" and when I first laid eyes on her, she was literally... all in silhouette...
and conincidently, her name rhymes with silhouette...

~~~~~
Imagine the balcony area of a happening club, the music, the lights, the people & suddenly there she was...
Like an angel hidden by darkness, sitting with a dim light behind her, her form in silhouette caught my eye...
Everything slowed down as I came to a great revelation...
I felt each Heartbeat... beat...
I felt a strange shyness & nervousness creep under my skin...
I'm only truly shy around someone I really like...
I noticed her hair as it flows like waves before they dissolve into a sandy beach...
Brown highlights...
Permed... Wavy... Long...
the Perfect shape...
just the way I like it...
Then came the one-two punch...
Along with her beautiful hair...
she also had a beautiful smile...
I was going down with a KO...
As she smiled...
Her eyes shone...
they were as bright as the stars in the sky... like precious diamonds on a crown...
Her lips, oh how they curved so perfectly... oooooozing with sweetness... I was practically drowning...
Her cheeks lifted... Her face shone...
Shining through the darkness, her smile took my breath away...
She probrably caught me adoring her because she looked back...
and she smiled even more...
I couldnt help but smile back...
Glad to have her acknowledge my presence...
I have met many women in my life & some of them are glamourous, some hot, some sexy, some rich, some horny & etc... They are all unique & special in their own way...
But nothing penerates the defences of my heart like hair that flows with the oceans, eyes that twinkle in the moonlight & a smile that sweetens up everything around it...
I truly have found my type of girl...
~~~~~
At the very very last moment, on the very last night of my stay in Kuching, just as she was walking out the door of the club that we cooincidentally met again after meeting for the first time the night before, I finally plucked up enough courage to walk up to her, wisper into her ears infront of her friends an invitation to a cup of coffee some time... (Consider the risks... we were complete strangers! I dont even know if she got a boyfriend! Furthermore, I was unbelievably shy, it wasnt easy for me to even talk to her)
She smiled & said she'd have to think about it, but she gave me her number & we exchanged sms-es for the rest of the night & the morning of the next day...
She said yes to coffee at 3pm the next day which was also the day that I had to be at the airport at 7.30pm.
Later I found out that she took so long to say yes because she was asking for permission from her parents first...
What a good daughter!!

I picked her up from her very comfortable home & headed to Starbucks, at The Spring shopping contre, for coffee. Starbucks was full so we decided to take our coffee away with us as we explored the newly opened shopping centre...

The more I taked to her, the more I realised that we have a lot in common & i do mean A LOT!
For example, we both 23 this year. (of course, I am privilaged to be younger.)
We Chinese but our Mandrin is not very good.
We shy about our Chinese names.
We are the eldest of 6 children in our respective families.
Both our parents have 3 boys & 3 girls.
Both our parents began with a humble life but worked hard for the wealth they have today.
We love to read books.
We studied in Wellington.
We love the yam char in Regal Chinese Restaurant, Wellington.
We both like short hair. (I do hope she'll keep her current hair style.)
We like Starbucks Java Chip Frappe.
We are both single.
But we are not looking for any serious relationships at the moment.

There was a connection...
I dont know what she thinks, but I do feel a good chemistry going on between us...
You can talk to someone for a while & feel all exhausted in the end...
But when I talk to her, time passes by so fast & before you know it, I have to send her home & rush on home...
I really really like talking to her...
Am starting to "like" her as well...

~~~~~
Just like in a shakespearian play...
Where there is a miracle, there is a trajedy...
Perfection is followed by imperfection...
My type of girl is seperated from me once again...
By distance.
I leave for KL today.
She leaves to study in Dunedin, NZ, 2 days after.
I dont even know if she'll be back...
Now I arrive in KL dejected...
In the 3 times in my life I found someone I really like & feel a connection with, physical distance seperates us.
In 2 of the 3 times, I initiated a serious relationship...
In 2 out of 2 relationships, the distance was too much...
I'm not going to make the same mistake again...
I'll let her go...
I think she deserves better than what I have to give.
~~~~~
Heavenly Father, I yearn to be free from this curse.
But I know you have a plan to prosper me.
I will take up my cross & I will learn from this...
I know I will be a better person because of this...
I know that one day when the circumstance is right, I will appreciate my woman more because of the moulding pain I went through in previous relationships...

I shall be patient & know you are God.
