Denny's Restaurant

Image
It was one of those nights where i didnt feel like sleeping n i was hyped up from jz returning from some sort of meeting with my fellow Christians... So bored Nesa, excitable Suesday & hungry me went for a 20 minute drive at 1am down to a 24-hrs Porirua retaurant called "Denny's Restaurant". Drinks: Nesa had Hot Chocolate. Suesday had Lipton Yellow Label Tea. I hada Latte. Foodwise, Nesa & Suesday shared a Chicken Salad while i hada Millenium sandwich. The food & drinks at the restaurant come in gigantic quantities... but the food greatly lacks in taste... However, we hada good time... But wont be back for anything other than jz coffee...

Match Fixing Scandal In Italian Football League Elite

Image
Several top flight Italian clubs were found guilty of match fixing... Among them, my fav club: AC Milan. The board appointed to decide on a proper punishment hav come up with these conclusions after two hearings: For AC Milan, AC Milan, who in my oppnion recieved the lightest punishment of all, will remain in the Serrie A as decided in a previous hearing but with a smaller number of points deducted; They start the new season with negative 8 point rather than negative 15. There was also a punishment on last season's points tally which was reduced from deducting 44 points to deducting 30 points. With last season's points deducted, AC Milan will not get automatic qualification for the Champions League but will hav to play Chievo Verona in the qualification round. For Fiorentina, Fiorentina will start the new season in the Serie A with negative 19 points. Furthermore, Fiorentina must play three matches at a neutral ground. The club was also fined 120,000 euros. 30

To Argue, Or Not To Argue?

I was considering this question in my head as i was finishing work at the restaurant last nite. Many times there will be ppl who think opposite of wad you think... & they will want to argue with wad you think as if they are totally right and you are wrong... wad shud i do? Option #1 : Holler Back! Fight fire with fire till one side of the firewall tumbles! Option #2 : Take it... Only answer gently... Option #3 : Drop It Like It's Hot! Walk away... #2 is usually the measure i take... i smile & listen to wad this emotional preacher has got to say... if i feel like it, i will come up with a clever twist... but usually i jz stay silent. Sometimes i wonder if i shud hav, #1 , raised my voice & argued with him... I wonder if that form of retaliation will be productive... none of the points we discuss will ever be understood nor pondered by our opponent because both of us will be to mentally occupied with finding a way to lash out at the other... Like two high walls banging a

Kamlini, Special 2 No End

Image
Kamlini is one of the few frens i made in New Zealand with whom i truly click wif. We hav a wonderful & blooming friendship... Therefore, it is my honour to come up with something that will reflect our kinship for her birthday which falls on every 23rd July. The first thing i did was take her out for dinner... So last nite at 7pm we met at Manners Mall and walked around looking for a restaurant when we stumbled upon this interesting Thai restaurant, The Original Thai , at Tory st. Do read my review for this restaurant at DineOut.co.nz We shared everything... The 2 wonderful fresh & yummy entrees... <---- Meatballs &, my fav pastry, Curry Puffs! The 2 stir-fry Mains & one seafood Tom Yam soup! ----> We hada bottle of Kim Crawford 2005 Pinot Noir n it was excellent! It was a wonderful dining experience! After dinner, Nesa & I walked her all the way home to Stafford House from the restaurant. Little did she know that a

5 Months in Less Than a Day

"Are 5 Months Less Than 24hrs?" Keep this question at the back of your mind while i teach you some maths... I am sponsored by the Malaysian government for my studies in New Zealand. As an allowance, i should get $724 per month. However, if i want the government to pay for my accomodations in NZ, being self-catered, i get 60% ($434) of my allowance being catered, i get 20% ($144) Notice the difference between self-catered & catered is $290 a month or $72.5 a week. I stay in a Studio Double with Nesa . My accomodations provider, Unicomm , provides 2 plans for those who stay in the studios. Catered & self-catered. Fees are, for self-catered, $170 per week for catered, $215 per week Therefore, it would be really wise for me to ask the government to pay for my accomodations because they only charge me a portion of the price, by decucting from my allowance. However, having only 20% of your allowance is really depressing... Therefore, a great plan has been adopted by Nesa &a

Being Deaf By Choice

I hav learnt a lot from this article as well... too many times i hav choosen not to listen or respond to God because it was not convinient for me or because i fear. The result is soon i stop hearing from God & drift away... I fear many things: embarassment, ridicule, loss, suffering & etc. But who doesnt... Then again, if we do not risk something and live outside of our comfort zone... are we living at all? I do hope that God will continue challenging me... and i will continue to respond to Him even though i may fail again... and again... and again... Let this life i live be lived for more than myself... Let the works of my hands go beyond my desires... Let the nakedness of my imperfection speak the wonders of my God... Let me be strong enough to be weak... - 2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may r

Power, Not Words

This article has taught me several things... It has also cleared up certain cobwebs that i hav had in my head for so long... It jz shows me how wonderfully rich & powerful the Word of God is... I hav always been easily swayed by powerful speaking and accertiveness... Nw i hav grounds to see beyond the words spoken... Nw i will examine the speaker's life... The fruits of his life... Wad is his life like? Wad choices does he make in his life? Do they tally wif wad he talks about? Is there power in his life? No longer will beautiful words spoken in a persuasive manner sway me... My feet is on a Rock! Read the article and recieve a similiar blessing! Adapted from Experiencing God Day-by-Day by Broadman & Holman Publishers Not in Word, But in Power For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power. 1 Corinthians 4:20 C hristianity is not moral platitudes, lofty intentions, and noble thoughts. The fundamental characteristic of God's kingdom is power. Paul faced consta

Beloved Malaysia...

Image
As many of you will know, I am a Chinese Malaysian currently fully sponsored by the Malaysian government in my persuit of a degree in New Zealand. I am really grateful to my country for sponsoring my studies. I am also very proud of the many achievements of my country. However, as an intellectual being, i cannot ignore the injustices my country has been actively committing for many many generations. One of the biggest injustices committed by my country has to do with racial benefits. Especially in the area of education scholarships. Why am i making such a fuss? It's because the government promised a system based on meritocracy. You get it if ur academic & co-curricular performances are good... your race & religion has got ntg to do with your selection. But as the government disclosed recently, this promise is only a half-truth. "Based on the latest statistics provided by the Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Datuk Abdul Rahman Suliman, the

At d same time, I also realise that i dont really know you much... havent spent much time wif you & never really had the chance to. but from wad i hear and wad i see... you're gentle, sweet, kind and graceful. I didnt know wad to pray for but after thinking about it and asking God... I hava promise of God for you... - Proverbs 16.3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.
